Get Help: Parents

Be a P.I.—A Parent Investigator

Whether you think your child is using or you know it, you may have growing suspicions that your child is experimenting with alcohol or other drugs, something you’ve never had to deal with. There can be feelings of humiliation, perhaps thoughts that you are not a “good enough parent.” Don’t blame yourself, and don’t be afraid of what others may think. You can’t be too embarrassed to talk about your child’s alcohol or drug problem.

You need to get him help; no one else is going to do it. You are the person who can make the difference in this situation. It’s time to take action. As a parent, you are your child's biggest advocate!

If you suspect that your child might have a problem with alcohol, other drugs or gambling, use our confidential contact form, contact CASAC at 664-3608 or call The National Drug and Alcohol Treatment Referral Routing Service at 1-800-662-HELP (4357).

Anyone of any age who is experiencing a personal, emotional or mental health crisis can call Chautauqua Crisis Services 24 hours a day: 1-800-724-0461.
