goal
The goal of this campaign is to educated the general public and medical professionals about the warning signs of problem gambling and raise awareness about help that is available locally, statewide and nationally.
mission
The ongoing mission of the National Council on Problem Gambling is to promote awareness of problem gambling and the availability of counseling support services to help minimize the effects of this national problem and to provide a message of hope and help for those in need.
the campaign
The campaign will kick off with a press release announcing the activities for the week. There will be radio spot announcements on problem gambling with contact phone numbers for help. There will be a TV spot ad on problem gambling. There will be several news related articles pertaining to problem gambling targeting adolescents, women and the elderly. There will be an information/training presentation for professionals who serve clients with gambling problems. There is also the possibility of have a notable speaker in the field of problem gambling to do a morning talk with community leaders, educators, parents and professional in the morning and a possible presentation to college age students in the afternoon. Brochures and information will be available for the community.
