Awareness Theatre: Classroom Scenes

Awareness Theatre’s most common type of presentation is improvised scenes acted out before a classroom. Each scene takes a look at a specific situation and the people involved in that situation. The audience gets to see how a situation develops and plays out. They also get to feel the emotions involved as the actors take the characters through the scene.

Following the scene, the actors stay “in character” to open a dialog with the audience and answer any questions they may have. In this way the audience gets to delve beyond the action of the scene, and get to the reasons behind the behaviors.

The goal of these presentations is to help prevent members of the audience from experiencing similar problems, or possibly help those experiencing related problems begin to deal with it.

Fee: $50/class period (negotiable)
